Training

All assembly and manufacturing personnel take part in the IKE Micro Skill Matrix. All job descriptions are clearly defined and each job description has certain levels that can be attained by each operator. Operators can move up in levels with formal training, job experience and improved skills. They must pass all defined guidelines before moving up a level. All cleanroom and Quality Control personnel are certified to MIL-STD 883 assembly guidelines and cleanroom protocol. All SMT, hand soldering personnel, and Quality Control personnel are certified to IPC-A-610, Classes 1,2, 3. All manufacturing personnel receive formal ESD training. Re-certifications are done every two years.

Continuous Improvement

After many successes and our share of failures, we focus on the most important areas for continuous improvement. Each of these target areas contains a whole host of initiatives needed for us to improve our performance. We capture data on internal rework, customer returns, on-time delivery, and individual job productivity. By providing an open forum for communication and by quantifying variances, we continually make progress in the right direction. Our customers have also been a great source for continuous improvement. We have been able to incorporate many "best practice" policies and Six Sigma initiatives that have been successful in their organizations.
