Benefits of Outsourcing

Our customers' outsourcing needs are quite different depending on their situations. We provide complete turnkey solutions to various companies that want to focus on design and sales, we provide full production on specific assemblies while our customers manufacture other products in parallel, and we provide manufacturing to companies just during spike demand situations. If you are considering outsourcing for spike demand situations, it is suggested that you establish a relationship with IKE prior to trying to meet a difficult delivery schedule. Getting a first article build done on representative product(s) is good way to establish a relationship with quality, production and materials personnel before deadlines have to be met. Whatever your needs are, the benefits of outsourcing are somewhat universal:

  • Focus - Outsourcing assembly allows you to focus on design development, integration, and sales and marketing. These are the true core competencies that add value to your market position. The time and energy required to support an internal manufacturing operation reduces this focus.
  • Resource Allocation - The amount of capital equipment, direct labor and overhead personnel needed in a competitive manufacturing operation is enormous. By outsourcing all or a portion of the assembly operation, you can utilize limited resources in other areas.
  • Cost Savings and High Yields - Because IKE Micro is a build to print manufacturer, all of our energies are put toward manufacturing efficiency.  We do not have the expensive overhead associated with large design and manufacturing organizations. We focus on optimum process development, process repeatability, employee training and cross training, and excellent shop loading techniques. Our focus on continual rework reduction and 100% final inspection produces excellent yields. All of these elements together mean cost savings for our customers.
  • Cycle Time and Turnaround - Many internal manufacturing organizations have difficultly fitting in new jobs or handling multiple jobs at the same time. Also, prototype jobs are sometimes difficult, if not impossible, to get done in a production environment. IKE Micro handles multiple customers and multiple assemblies on a daily basis. We utilize both manual and automated processes to get jobs started quickly, and operate in a true "job shop" environment to minimize  cycle time for our customers. At IKE we schedule in terms of hours and days vs. weeks and months.
